Who we are
Ravara Automations ("Ravara," "we," "us," or "our") is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and builds text-message automations for HVAC and plumbing companies. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information through our website (this site) and through the automations we run on behalf of the businesses that hire us ("clients").
Two kinds of information we handle
Because of what we do, we handle information in two different roles, and it's worth being clear about both:
- As a business, about our clients. When an HVAC or plumbing company signs up with Ravara, we collect information about that business and the people who run it — for example, business name, contact name, phone number, email address, and billing details.
- As a service provider, on behalf of our clients. Our automations send and receive text messages between our clients and their own customers (homeowners who call, text, or request quotes). In this role, we process that customer's phone number and message content strictly to deliver the automation our client has set up — we do not own that data, and we don't use it for our own purposes.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact and account information you or your business provide when booking a call, signing up, or emailing us — name, business name, phone number, email address.
- Billing information needed to process payment for our services. We use Stripe as our payment processor and do not store your card details ourselves — Stripe collects and processes that information directly, under its own privacy policy (available at stripe.com/privacy).
- Message content and metadata processed by the automations — the text of messages sent and received, timestamps, and call-outcome data (such as whether a call was missed) needed to run features like missed-call text-back, after-hours triage, quote follow-up, and review requests.
- Communications you send us directly, such as emails or replies during setup and support.
We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts on this website.
How we use information
- To set up, run, and support the text-message automations a client has purchased
- To communicate with clients about their account, setup, and billing
- To respond to inquiries and support requests
- To improve the reliability of our automations
We do not use information collected on behalf of a client to market to that client's customers, and we do not repurpose it for any client other than the one it was collected for.
Text messaging consent and opt-out
Our automations only text a client's customer in response to an action that customer already took with that business — for example, calling a number that went unanswered, receiving a quote, or having a job completed. We do not use these automations to send unsolicited marketing messages.
- Anyone can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving further automated texts from a client's number, and this request is honored immediately.
- Reply HELP for assistance, or contact the business directly using the number the messages came from.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient's carrier plan.
How we share information
We never sell information. We share it only where necessary to run our service:
- With the telecom and messaging providers we use to send and deliver text messages
- With hosting and infrastructure providers that keep our systems running
- With Stripe, our payment processor, to bill clients for our services
- Where required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request
Any provider we work with is only permitted to use information to help us deliver our service, not for their own purposes.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide our service to a client, plus a reasonable period afterward for support, record-keeping, and legal purposes. A client can request that we delete data tied to their account after their service with us ends, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle, including restricting access to the people who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
If you're a Canadian resident, you have rights under applicable privacy law — including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act and, where relevant, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
If you're a customer of one of our clients and want a message-related request handled (such as opting out), replying STOP is the fastest way — you can also reach out to the business directly, or contact us and we'll pass the request along.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and their adult customers. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our services change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
